Tell Them From Me Student Survey

In our continuing efforts to increase school effectiveness through student voice, Swan Valley School Division will once again implement an online student survey entitled Tell Them From Me (TTFM), which is Canada’s largest national school survey.  Swan Valley will continue to work with Manitoba Education and Advanced Learning in the collection of school division survey data related to bullying and school safety.

Student feedback helps inform decision-making and planning and provides schools with information to improve learning and to foster safe and welcoming environments.  The Tell Them From Me student survey also includes such topics as social-emotional and academic outcomes (student engagement) and drivers of student outcomes (quality instruction, classroom, school and family context).

Students in Grades 9 to 12 will be given the opportunity to participate in the survey anonymously.  Each student receives a randomly generated username and password, so that their identity and responses cannot be linked.  Each survey will require approximately 45 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions, require more information, or do not wish your child to participate in the online survey, please contact the school at 204.734.4511.

Post-Secondary Information Evening for Students and Parents

On Tuesday, November 3rd at 7pm, our Guidance Counsellor, Jennifer Simpson will be hosting a Post-Secondary Information Evening for all parents and students.  She will be reviewing options for apprenticeship, college and university as well as course requirements, tuition fees, when to start applying and scholarships and bursaries.

This will be a great opportunity to ask some questions, pick up some of the materials from the colleges and universities and start the transition process to the next step.
